BOSTON — Stories of how urban renewal swept through the West End of Boston in 1959 and took out an entire neighborhood can be heard around the South Shore 55 years later. On Saturday, they were recorded for posterity as former residents reconnected at the Mass Memories Road Show at the West End Museum on Staniford Street in Boston.

“It just brings back lots of memories that really had disappeared from my mind, but I guess as you get older, suddenly, your past comes to you,” 86-year-old Lucille Azanow of Holbrook said.

She held two photos of herself as a child on North Anderson Street.
