Jewish Heritage Month Honorees
The West End Museum is honoring two exceptional West Enders this month: Manny Brown and Annie Londonderry.
Manny, who celebrates his 100th birthday quite soon, is a neighborhood treasure, who didn’t just live through urban renewal, but also landed on the Utah beachhead in Normandy 76 years ago on D-Day. He is a decorated hero, who received the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, French Medal, and Bronze Star!
Annie, on the other hand, was the first woman to bike around the world! She broke barriers for women in cycling, and became a noteworthy part of the women’s movement at the turn of the century.
Both Manny and Annie will have their names added to the Jewish Heritage Honoree board in the West End Museum.
