Burst pipe shuts down West End museum, destroys some artifacts

A museum in Boston is closed for the foreseeable future after a broken pipe made a mess out of the facility and destroyed some artifacts.

“So, I was actually here. There was a big bang, it started raining,” said West End Museum Director Sebastian Belfanti.

Belfanti said an upstairs pipe burst Saturday morning leaving water rushing from the ceiling, down the walls and into the floors, jeopardizing the exhibits and artifacts.

“We were able to save most of our kind of irreplaceables,” Belfanti said.
